My dad and I wanted a way to check trail cameras, haul deer and get to the stand undetected as best we could. The solution? The HuntMObile! I researched and researched until I found the perfect golf cart to transform into the hunting buggy we envisioned. I came to the determination to choose the Club Car because of it’s aluminum frame which will not rust. Then from there I searched until I found the right model I could transform. The Club Car DS series golf cart was what I found, a perfect match. I searched all over the internet looking for a good deal on a used golf cart. I was going to gut it so I was just looking for something cheap that had a decent body and a roof installed. If I could find one with lights already installed then great, but certainly not a deal breaker. It took nearly 5 months until I located a cart in my area that was a perfect match and I snatched it up. It was a basic model 2002 CC 48Volt DS series cart without lights, but it had a good body and the roof I was looking for.

I started the project by gutting the cart all the way down to the frame, only leaving the wiring and pedals attached. I had planned to replace the batteries, upgrade the motor, controller, solenoid, heavy duty switch, 4 guage battery cables, lift kit, new tires and rims, rear folding double seat, front basket and finally custom paint and camo wrap. I saved my money for 4 months until I had the cash to get the long list of parts ordered. Back in mid August I placed the order and I have been working on it every chance I could get. It’s finally done. This has been not only one of the most fun projects I have ever done, it’s really rewarding to build something such as this.

Finally I want to thank my wife for helping me and also allowing me to follow my aspirations. To all my friends who helped in some way shape or form with the project, it’s very much appreciated guys!

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them along the way. It’s pretty cool to see what I started with and what I turned this thing into!

  5. I’ve been wanting to do something like this but I’m curious as to how much it costs. Do you have a ballpark figure on how much you spent? Thanks in advance.
